Mombasa Governor Accuses Deputy President of Corruption

The Governor of Mombasa Ali Hassan Joho has described Deputy President Dr William Ruto as the most corrupt person. He made the comments as he accompanied former MP Irshad Sumra to file his nomination papers with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission earlier today. Sumra will contest the Embakasi South seat on the ODM ticket.

The Governor has alleged that Ruto is using proxies to fight him. However Ruto and his allies have previously dismissed accusations against the Deputy President as part of an attempt to discredit him as a successor to President Kenyatta in 2022.
