Trump offers Kenya and SA Covid-19 assistance
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has offered to help Kenya and South Africa in their respective fights against the coronavirus, after speaking with his counterparts there on the telephone.
President Trump spoke with Kenya’s president, Uhuru Kenyatta, and Cyril Ramaphosa, South Africa’s president, on Thursday.
President Trump said the US stands together with the people of South Africa in its battle against the pandemic, according to a transcript of the conversation.
Mr Trump also offered to help Kenya, and has agreed to remain in close communication with President Kenyatta over the issue.
