Sudan’s Post-Bashir Cabinet Sworn In

In a historic victory for democracy Sudan’s first cabinet since the overthrow of President Omar al-Bashire has been sworn in.

Consisting of 18 members, including four women and the country’s first female Foreign Minister, Asmaa Abdallah.

They took their oaths of office at the Presidential Palace in Khartoum. The cabinet’s swearing in comes a month after a sovereign council was set up, consisting of both civilian and military members.

Their immediate priorities will be to revive the economy and quell any residual conflicts amongst militias loyal to.
