Kenyan Police Shoot State House Intruder

Police officers in Kenya on Monday shot an intruder at State House in Nairobi identified at Kibet Bera, a student from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat).

Bera was shot in the shoulder and is being treated at Kenyatta National Hospital after he attempted to access State House with a knife.

According to Kilimani Sub-County Police Commander Michael Muchiri the student was caught trying to scale State House Gate B on Monday afternoon. On Sunday Bera has posted a series of threats to raid State House on social media.

The last time an intruder sought to access State House was in 2017, when a man who had entered the compound was shot dead.
