Uganda-Rwanda Border Dispute Rumbles On

Uganda has accused Rwanda of violating East African Community (EAC) laws in closing the Katuna border to traffic.

Rwanda claims to have stopped vehicles from entering the country through the border post to enable the completion of infrastructure works. However, Uganda says the move amounts to a declaration of a trade war and has suggested it is considering petitioning the EAC Secretariat over the matter. 

A Ugandan government spokesperson has refuted reports in local media that Rwandan troops have been deployed at the border.
