Singida East MP Dares Speaker to Withhold His Salary

The Singida East MP Tundu Lissu has dared the Speaker, Job Ndugai, to without his salary, noting it would not stop him from soldering on with his work.

It comes as a reaction to a statement made in Parliament yesterday by the speaker who appeared to not to an appeal by Geita Rural MP Joseph Msukuma to reconsider payment of Mr Lissu’s salary on account of his absenteeism.

Mr Lissu released a statement noting that the Speaker’s actions betray the conscience of those he claimed were behind his torment since he escaped an assassination attempt in Dodoma in September 2017.

Whilst on tour in the US where he is lecturing, he noted;

‘Mwalimu Nyerere was sacked from teaching in Pugu Secondary School for political reasons but that did not stop the father of the nation from fighting for independence.’
