Ziggy Wine Killed in Road Accident, Police Claim

According to police in Uganda musician Michael Kalinda, also known as Ziggy Wine, died as a result of injuries from a road accident. 

The musician died earlier this week after he was admitted to hospital with serious injuries. Kalinda was a close friend of opposition presidential aspirant and fellow musician Bobi Wine. He was also signed to Bobi Wine’s Firebase Crew music label.

Bobi Wine and others have alleged that Kalinda’s death was the result of his kidnapping on July 21 and subsequent torture. When the musician was located local reports state that he had burn marks and was missing an eye and two fingers.

However, police spokesperson Fred Enanga has since stated that Kalinda was badly injured in an accident before being hospitalised.
