Uganda Searches For Abducted Tourist

Security forces in Uganda are searching for an American tourist and her driver after four gunmen allegedly abducted them earlier this week.

The abductors are demanding half a million dollars to secure her release. The incident was brought to the attention of park officials after they released two other tourists travelling with the American. They claim to have been held at gunpoint in Queen Elizabeth National Park on Tuesday.

The President’s Elite Special Forces are among those to have been deployed to track the group across the park. With the Ugandan government earning around $1.3 billion annually in tourism revenues securing the tourists safe release is considered highly important.
