Air Tanzania Explores Dar-London Route

Air Tanzania is discussing the possibility of resuming direct flights between Dar es Salaam and London with the United Kingdom (UK).

The airline has already confirmed that it has successfully secured three landing slot pairs at London’s Gatwick airport, 19 years after it withdrew from the route. British Airways then withdrew its direct flights on the route six years ago.

Speaking on the plans the firm’s Director for Commercial and Business Development Mr Patrick Ndekana stated, “We are discussing with them to see how they can help us ensure the success of this mission to unlock the various opportunities that Tanzania can fetch from the UK.”

Air Tanzania is undergoing a revival programme, which has seen flights to Bujumbura, Entebbe, Comoros islands, Lusaka and Harare launched, as well as a direct flight to Mumbai, India.
