Brexit effect: UK looks beyond EU to Kenya flower farms
As Britain continues preparations to leave the European Union, demand for freshly cut Kenyan roses is booming.
The United Kingdom imports three billion dollars’ worth of flowers every year, historically from the Netherlands.
But with a possible Brexit looming, it is looking to Kenya, a trading partner with whom it has had a special relationship with.
That's given new hope to Kenyan flower growers that their English roses will soon be blooming in the UK.
The new trade for flowers will likely bring significant investment into areas where it will be much needed.
